Towson university Creative services project
Ready, Set, Roar is a homecoming event that Towson University held in the fall of 2023. The client wanted the event to be themed after the movies fast and furious.

A collaberative effort

      Services:

      • Visual Identity
        Campaign Strategy
        Illustration
For this event, the client needed digital assets for social media use as well as printed use. My supervisor, the assistant VP of the Creative Services team, another designer, and I were tasked to come up with our own concepts to show to the client. Then, they would choose what they would want to go through with. In the end, the client chose my design style but wanted a couple of elements from the other concepts to be incorporated into it.

      creating the
      building blocks

I created a bold, and energetic visual style to compliment the fast and Furious racing theme while maintaining Towson University's brand identity to ensure that there was no confusion on who was hosting the events.

The wordmark I created was inspired by the Fast and Furious posters. I wanted to create speed in the stationary text by using obliques and lines on the left to insinuate speed. But to make it work with small media sizes I needed to develop a different lockup.

      Crossing the finish line

After creating the word mark I started developing all other assets. I used texture, checker marks inspired by Towsons Tigertooth, a tire-track mark developed by my supervisor, and other car illustrations to expand the campaign's visual identity. These designs ended up being used in many forms such as table tents, flyers, large displays, social media posts and stories, and much more.
